How we restore a surface

We examine the surface for flex, delamination, stress cracks, and wear. Tapping reveals hollow or unsupported areas behind the shell. You get a clear diagnosis and a fixed-price quote — no surprises.

The work area is cleaned, the old finish is etched for adhesion, and everything around the surface is masked off. Proper prep is what separates a refinish that lasts years from one that peels in months.

For bottom jobs, hull repairs, and cracks, the damaged area is ground out and rebuilt with layered fiberglass cloth and resin, bonded directly to the original shell. This restores real rigidity — not a cosmetic patch that flexes and re-cracks.

Repaired areas are filled, then sanded fair and flush with the surrounding surface through progressively finer grits, so the repair is completely invisible once coated.

A bonding primer is applied, followed by a sprayed topcoat — gelcoat or a modern acrylic-urethane coating — in your chosen color and sheen. Multiple thin coats build a smooth, glossy, non-porous surface.

The finish cures hard, masking is removed, and we walk you through care instructions. Most surfaces are ready to use again within 24 hours, backed by our written warranty.
